  1. Hi!

Glad to see such a site exists. Lani Rosenstock had it on her FB page so I clicked to see what was here.

Well . . . I’m not what you call a “professional” woman — run a print shop — but finding plus size clothes that don’t look like a feed sack is a problem. I’m partial to jeans (basically 24/7) and V-neck tees (long- and short-sleeved) — and, believe me, V-neck tees that are comfortable, 100% cotton, cut right (I hate the sleeve set-in on clothes nowadays — makes women look deformed.) and that are in colors I like are nearly impossible to find, especially in this area. And finding plain ones — with no baubles or bows or designs screen-printed on them, thank you kindly, is asking entirely too much!

When I do find some that are reasonably priced (I hate to go over $20, usually stick with the $15 and under when I can find them.) I buy several in my size, even if I have two or three the same color!

Any clues as likely stores to find such items?

We’re unblessed with Walmart and that’s the height of shopping here — at least 70 miles from any “major” city (i.e. over 25,000 population!). Occasionally I luck out and find tops at Dollar General Store (found some great chenille sweaters there six or seven years ago — still wearing them).

    • Hi Joyce! So glad you found this site. First of all in my opinion being a “professional” is all about your attitude doesn’t matter if you work a blue collar job or a high power executive :) Your dilemna with finding affordable plus size clothes is all to familiar and the fact that you’re in a rural area doesn’t help. But boy do you get to enjoy the perks of getting packages in the mail! That’s always fun! So here are a couple of my favorite stores for affordable plus size clothing:

      Torrid
      Forever 21′s Faith21 Selection
      OneStopPlus
Hope this helps and let me know if you have any more questions!

  2. Hi there
