3 Ways to Attract More Plus-Size Clients
Many business owners create products and services wishing and hoping that someone will buy. While you may get a few sales, you will find out sooner or later that it really isn’t sustainable. That “build and they will come” mindset simply does not work anymore. Take a step back and use these tried-and-proven ways to boost your client base:
- The first step is really deciding who do you really want to attract? Can you list 5 characteristics of who your ideal client is? If not, then I suggest you pull out a pen and paper and start writing. Remember you as the business owner, have the power to work with any types of clients you want to and don’t want to. Take a look at the sign on your next restaurant visit and you’ll see they can deny your service at any time! So think about who will be the most fun for you to work with, what needs or wants are they coming to you for? When they search on the internet, what are some things they’re looking for? What do they perceive as valuable? These are just a few questions to get you started. Once you have those answered, it’s time to find out where the heck are they?
- You know that common saying “Meet me half way”? Well that is exactly what you will have to do. This is why it’s critical for you to go where they are! With the widespread use of the internet and the ever-growing popularity of the social media, it makes it a bit easier for you to actually find your ideal clients. People enjoy connecting with each other and like being part of groups with others who share similar interests or mindsets. It is up to you to take advantage of this and hang out with your ideal clients. You can find the plus-size community on facebook, twitter, ning, meetup, and many other social media outlets. This is where you will get an insider’s look on the likes and dislikes of your prospects and clients and find out what problems they’re facing. This is like a goldmine to your business!
- Now that you’ve found them, this is your prime opportunity to get to know them. Some like to call this market research, but I think it’s more than that. Due to social media, the face of business is changing; now more than ever, it’s about building relationships. Find out what motivates them and what doesn’t. Identify the things that they like and don’t like. The more you get to know your clients, they will in turn learn more about you and your business. This is what truly helps to build trust and customer loyalty; before you know it, you will have clients coming to you instead of the other way around.
